These ports are used by RAOP for streaming. With iTunes, identified in the OS X firewall, these ports should have already been opened for streaming. Do you run some other type of firewall product on your Mac? Another thing to try, as some folks have reported success with doing so, is to disable IPv6.

Reply Helpful Thread reply - more options Link to this Post. I've disabled IPv6 but still no difference. Is there another way to see what ports are being used by iTunes when streaming music? Is this device currently providing your wireless network? If so, do you have the AX configured to join its network? If this device is also your main router for Internet access, and you are streaming on the local network, then there is no need to disable its firewall Only the computer, hosting iTunes, must have the proper ports opened on its software firewall.

The AX is configured to join this network also. What settings should I have the IPv6 set to on the AX local link, host or tunnel or will this make no difference?

Thanks again for your help. With the AX configured to join the Billion's wireless network, only the network client hosting iTunes, need to have its software firewall configured for the proper ports. Again, since you are successful with the OS X firewall disabled, there still must be something we are missing when you enable it. I am also running OS X The only item in the list, like yours, is one for iTunes.

There is nothing else I configured to get it to work. So it seems more likely a software issue. You would think it would be the other way around Well, kind of Not sure why this would happen but I'll try and explain my work around.

You need to create a rule in Global Rules to open a port. Read the following tutorial I made. Substitute the port numbers and protocol for your situation. Hmmm that seems to have fixed the problem on my laptop - i'll keep monitoring as sometimes the feature still doesnt show up.. I'm just curious though, as this is a connection between two clients in my local network wouldnt the Global Rules "Allow all outgoing requests if the target is in local network" and "Allow all incoming requests if the sender is in local network" mean that I do not need to open up any specific port for the application?

Now I have a similar problem except on my Desktop. The issuewith my desktop though isn't fixed by the above. However, what's really weird is if I uninstall Comodo completely the option will then show up in iTunes.

If I reinstall Comodo again and have the firewall off the option dissapears. Any ideas on that one? Edit - Just tried again. Uninstall Comodo. Airtunes option shows up in iTunes.

Reinstall Comodo. Firewall On. Airtunes option does not show up in iTunes. Turn Firewall off. Still no airtunes option. This is all on my desktop and no longer on my laptop which was the subject of my initial post. Quote from: kahhoek on September 08, , AM. Whats really strange is on my Desktop i've just installed Airfoil. Airfoil is a 3rd party application which has the same functionality to iTunes in that it can connect to an Airtunes speaker and stream music to it.

Airfoil picks up the Airtunes speaker immediately without me manually doing anything in Comodo. Even when Airfoil picks up the Airtunes speaker, if I then close it and start iTunes. I have checked the obvious in iTunes and iTunes is searching the network for the speakers. Nah that didn't work.

Though it appears with Comodo installed after a long period of time iTunes will detect the speaker. By that I mean anytime over one hour.. Sometimes it doesn't detect it at all. It's very strange. No Comodo means instant detection. Can I tag along with this one please as I am having exactly the same issue. Uninstall Comodo - detects the speaker and can use.
