However, I get distracted and annoyed by the squiggly lines indicating possible errors. Is there a simple way I could turn it off completely, compose the document, and turn it on again for checking? To turn on or off automatic grammar checking, clear the "Check grammar as you type" check box. If you select spelling , the Spelling and Grammar dialog box appears. To check grammar as you type: Hover your I-beam over the grammatical mistake and right-click. Click Ignore. This conversation is currently closed to new comments. Not sure if this is your problem but ran into it once before. First are you typing in all caps? If so check your options inside word and uncheck skip words in cap. If not check there anyway there are some settings that may help.


I would look but notat my computer with word.
