Needless to say, I decided to return this product to Amazon for a refund. I first saw this item at Target and then read some reviews about it on Amazon while standing in the store in the baby section. The Prograde is designed to work with most door lever handles.
It does not require any hardware to install. A number of reviewers indicated that this product is not that great because it attaches to the door with an adhesive backing. Quite a few people reported that their kids were able to pull the product off the door, which then totally defeats the purpose of having a lever handle lock. The actual apparatus is pretty modern looking and I think that may be the biggest thing this product has going for it.
Ultimately, after reading many negative reviews, I decided to pass. I finally found a product that I think works really well for most French-door style handles, which is the Safety 1st Lever Handle Lock. It took some trial and error and a couple of weeks of looking, but in the end it was worth it to find a safety lock that is dependable. This product has worked really well with a toddler who likes to try to get into rooms, such as the bathroom and pantry, that are off limits.

That is the side of the door that the lever handle lock will be installed on. Remove the screws from the existing lever handles and remove both handles from the door. Take one of the adapter plates and align it with the internal components of the chosen handle. Push out the tabs on the adapter plate which corresponds with the internal screw posts or other obstructions by the handle mechanism. Make sure the arrows on the adapter plate are facing up and pointed posts are facing towards the door. Align the lock with existing lever handle hole in the door.
