2022.01.17 02:00

So I isolated it to the HP laptop. The wierd thing is her computer shows full signal, excellent connection, when connected to the Airport, or directly -- it just doesn't work. So, tell me what to look at or check for.

In reply to Aashish G's post on September 2, The Vista machine connects to the Airport just fine, excellent signal strength. When I am in network settings, it shows a good connection between the computer and the Airport, but it shows the Airport is not connected to the modem.

I know the Airport is working fine because I am sitting here replying to this on one of the two Macs on this network. The internet was working for two days, and then it just stopped.

I have waited different time frames, but each time, end up hitting the 'close' button. The online support link takes you to a page where you'll need to drill down more to get useful information.

The number's By incredible coincidence, I just experienced the same browsing problem on my own computer. And it's not a firewall, as NOD32 doesn't include one. Maybe you have an antivirus program installed that's scanning internet traffic and preventing browsing?

Do you have any such program installed? Also I was perusing articles on the Internet concerning internet issues in Vista when I came across the information that some routers aren't compatible with Vista.

Are you behind a router, which would be either a wireless network or a box that splits wired broadband e. DSL connections to multiple computers? Trying everything I can think of to help you. Thanks for the help!! Long story short - my computer came with a 6 month trail for Norton Symantec and when it expired, I removed it but apparently unsuccessfully. We had to go to symantec. After that, I am browsing away!!

The first problem is that this PC can connect to the WiFi just fine, and I can go on the Internet and such, but not able to do some of the following things using IE 9 :.

I always make sure the PC time is correct and had run a speed test from beta. Plus, at the moment I cannot really have the PC connected to an Ethernet, unfortunately. I would like common advise on cases like this, what should one troubleshoot and test? Let's just assume that the problem also exists if I connect to the Ethernet; what should I do?

And one more thing if you roll back to IE10 do you get the same problem? This could just be a bad update. I'm surprised that no one has said this already so I'm gonna go ahead and say it Why in the world are you trying to use Internet Explorer in the midst of all the vulnerability warnings, let alone use Internet Explorer at all?

The vulnerabilities are really no different than a normal day, it's just a new one specifically targeting IE. Any browser can download malware if the site is infected and the end user clicks to download it. Sounds like either DNS issue as already stated , malware already stated or possibly port 80 blocked?

Have you tried https sites? Check proxy settings. Close IE, and try again. To continue this discussion, please ask a new question. Get answers from your peers along with millions of IT pros who visit Spiceworks.
