The light pen connects to the computer by a wire. A light pen contains a device at the tip that emits light. Mostly, light pens are used by graphics designers, engineers, and illustrators. The light pen sends the information to the computer when we touch the pen to the computer screen.


A joystick has two parts a base and a stick. We can move the stick in every direction to shift the object from one position to another position on the computer screen.


The joystick is similar to a mouse or trackball. Mostly the joystick is used to play computer games. A joystick has a fast interface and also used in computer-aided design. A graphics tablet is also called a digitizer. A graphics tablet contains a flat pad on which we can draw an image or shape with a pen called stylus. The image gets drawn on the screen as we draw on the flat pad. It is mostly used by graphics designers to produce accurate drawings and pictures. The pointing device is also known as the Pressure-Sensitive device.


It exists between the keys of the keyboard. For desktop computers , the most common pointing device is the computer mouse. For laptop computers , the most common pointing device is the touchpad. Finally, for smartphones and tablets , the most common pointing devices is your finger on a touch screen.


Graphics tablets consist of a flat surface upon which the user may "draw" an image using an attached stylus, a pen-like drawing apparatus. The image generally does not appear on the tablet itself but, rather, is displayed on the computer monitor. A graphics drawing tablet used for sketching new images or tracing old ones. The user makes contact with the tablet with a pen or puck mistakenly called a mouse that is either wireless or connected to the tablet by a wire.


For sketching, the user draws with the pen or puck and the screen cursor "draws" a corresponding image. When drawing or tracing on the tablet, a series of x-y coordinates vector graphics are created, either as a continuous stream of coordinates, or as end points. Slide 15 The End.
