Costco return policy wii games
My concern is Costco Employees not knowing, or perhaps being dishonest about, or being mis-lead about their store's return policies, or lack thereof. I don't actually even mind if there is no return policy, but I dislike being TOLD they have a return policy when indeed it appears they do not. Has anyone here ever read an official copy of Costco's return policy?
Is a phone an electronic device or is it made of styrofoam cups and string? If you want to be literal about it, a cordless phone is an electronic device which has a 90 day return policy; so no you should not have been able to return it. So, you were returning an electronic item, which you acknowledge they pointed out in multiple places has a 90 day return policy, after 18 months, and you're upset that they told you they would have returned it up until a year?
Costco has a lenient return policy. Although it says 30 days, as your husband found out, they'll take things back for ages. I don't really see the issue here? The policy says 30 days except for electronics but they stretch it to accomodate customers. It's not that they don't know the policy, it's that they have discretion to be flexible. Don't like the thread? Hide it or report it.
Don't incessantly complain about it in the thread, please. Costco's return policy is 30 days. There's just the gentleman's agreement that in legitimate cases, the policy will be waived.
They have to have the policy otherwise they couldn't stop people from "borrowing" stuff. Costco's return policy is great. I had a phone I bought from there 4 years ago.
One of the handsets stopped working, so I took the 4 year old phone, no box and no receipt back to Costco and they looked it up and gave me the cash for it, full refund, no questions asked. Joined Jul 19, Costco has a ridiculously generous exchange policy. The trade-off is only the purchaser can make a return. Sounds fair to me. Joined Jan 8, Yup, as the pp stated, you need to be a costco member in order to make a purchase, so you would need to be a costco member in order to make a return.
Unlike, target or toys r us, Costco doesn't do gift receipts. We've had a costco membership since our college days so have never encountered this problem. The return policy probably doesn't specify you need to be a member in order to make a return, because it assumes you already are if you are shopping at costco. You would have already had to have membership just to walk through the doors.
Joined Jan 17, Costco isn't a regular store; it's a membership warehouse. I think your anger is misplaced and unreasonable. I wouldn't expect a store like that including Sam's and BJ's to serve me as a non-member either. Hook-up with the relative and do the return. Costco is ridiculously easy and accommodating with their returns for members. Joined Mar 4, They do have easy games for the Wii. Are you sure you want to return it? Joined Mar 8, I agree Costco has one of the best return policies around. Also, my five year old loves the wii especially mario cart with steering wheels and has no issues. She started playing at 4, the game s needs to be age appropriate, but I would consider keeping it and giving it a try. Fairy2 DIS Veteran. I bought shorts using her membership card and my debit card. The shorts did not fit and they would not let me return them without my sister. I dropped the shorts and the receipt off at my sister's house. She took the shorts back and they credited my debit card. Just about anything gas-powered can't be returned at all. Baseball bats, electric scooters, and bicycles also can't be returned. Costco has a good laugh at just about all of the above.
Costco, which sells a lot of swimwear and seemingly keeps a blast furnace in the back of each store for burning compromised returns, will gleefully accept returned swimwear no matter where, when, or how it's been worn. Yeah, stores don't like it when you walk all over their rugs. Home Depot, Macy's and Wayfair will give just 30 days to return a rug. Costco, once again, places no limits. Pet stores are generally pretty understanding about returns. PetSmart and Petco have broad day return policies covering the toys your dogs and cats don't love.
If that toy gets lost for a month or two and the animal seems to wish it stayed hidden, though, Costco will take it back any time for a full refund. Costco sells flea and tick collars , among other pest-control items, and will take them back any time for any reason. PetSmart will do the same — for 60 days. Petco won't take back flea and tick prevention items at all if there's no receipt.
Costco has an almost shocking number of pet vitamins and supplements for just about any condition. Even more shocking? Neither PetSmart nor Petco will take back their own vitamins and supplements without the original packaging and a receipt, and then only up to 60 days. JCPenney will give all of 60 days to return jewelry with a receipt, and Macy's also limits such returns to 60 days.
That takes up to five business days. This is where return policies start to vary wildly. Kmart thinks mattress returns are icky and won't accept them after seven days. Ikea extends that deadline to 90 days , while Sears will take back mattresses after up to days, but not before it's been slept on for a month.
Costco may not have the biggest selection of mattresses , but also doesn't care when you return it, why you're returning it, or what condition it's returning in. Target will not take back an air mattress once its packaging is opened and will offer only an exchange for a similar item. Costco has no such hangups about its air mattresses. Walmart will take back a treadmill after 90 days, but the customer pays to have it shipped back to a store.
Costco won't refund for shipping or setup, but will take back even the costliest elliptical machine at any time for a full refund. Macy's thinks three days are an adequate return window for furniture. Sears and Kmart will give seven days, JCPenney will give 30, and Ikea will give an entire year with loads of caveats.
Costco's furniture collection isn't bound by such restrictions, unless you've customized it. Waiting in line at the service desk of a local Costco, we watched a customer return multiple boxes of Prilosec OTC after noting that the tablets he'd taken for heartburn didn't have the desired effect.
Had he tried to return an open package to CVS , it's likely that the store wouldn't have accepted it. A similar return at Walgreens may have stood a chance within the day return window, but even Walgreens can refuse to take back an open package.
