I don't have a disk drive on it so am unable to re-install windows with a disk. I have tried the Samsung Recovery process accessed via F2 on start up but this also fails. If anyone can advise me on how to fix this I would be extremely grateful. Many thanks, Sarah.

Not knowing fundamental information about a problem prolongs the frustration and agony of resolving these issues. Thank you MS Answers, for continuing to make the resolution of simple problems as frustrating and time consuming as possible. Please provide additional information about your system as best you can: What is your system make and model Samsung makes more than one kind of NetBook What is your XP Version and Service Pack? Was the issue preceded by a power interruption, aborted restart, or improper shutdown?

If the system used to work properly, what do you think might have changed since the last time it did work properly? If you tried the Samsung Recovery Process, that may have fouled things up depending on how far it got, but generally this is not a hard issue to resolve. First you have to boot on something so make a bootable Hiren's USB drive. You will have a whole bunch of cool tools that you don't have in the XP Recovery Console If after trying all the above steps you are still encountering the same issue, it's likely that Windows is severely corrupted and it is recommended you reinstall Windows.

Miscellaneous corruption Before trying any of the below recommendations, it's recommend that you load the last known good configuration. Corrupt boot. Missing boot. Boot the computer with your Windows NT three setup diskettes or the Windows setup disc.

Changing it from 1 to 2 for example allows the successful boot of NT. I left my Laptop on for about an hour during supper and when i came back i tried to play a game GTA Vice City , this game would not load up so i had to switch the laptop off. I can't access Windows to fix the problem and any operating cd i put in doesn't help.
