Thank you immensely and God Bless. I not sure if the organization remembers me, but I was awarded the Herb Block Scholarship for the school year. I was attending Northern Virginia Community College at the time and hoping to be accepted to a local nursing program. I wanted to share with you that I was accepted to George Mason University Nursing program and have completed my first semester of nursing. I wanted to thank you for helping me financially and contributing to my endeavors.
The help and support I receive allows me to continue to pursue my dreams and aspirations as a student. I am eternally grateful and thankful. Your generosity has impacted my life! It has given me a chance and opportunity to receive higher education. Coming from a low-income household, your support has made it possible to afford college.

Since I have similar passions for education as Mr. Block had, his Foundation Scholarship inspires me to be successful in my academic, career and personal endeavors. Students of any age are eligible for The Herb Block Scholarship if they are a high school graduates, GED holders, or current community college students, who meet the following criteria:. It is renewable for up to five years, provided the student continues to meet all other eligibility criteria and has not reached the monetary cap.
The scholarship application offers students the opportunity to tell us more about themselves. We encourage students to tell us in the essays about their personalities, their stories, and their goals.
Recommendations are optional. Applications are open March 1st until the November deadline. There are two scholarship deadlines each year. Applications for the fall semester awards are due June 1st, applications for spring semester are due November 10th.
Fall semester applicants who do not receive the award are automatically re-considered for an award for the spring semester. Students who apply for the spring semester are not automatically re-considered and may re-apply for the following fall. The online application period opens on March 1st and closes on November 10th.
