Promash yeast update
I remember reading somewhere that there was a promash update coming out in the future, but then there some some kind of family medical issue with the developer and it was going to be put off for a while. I don't even remember where I read that at I just use beersmith. TWilson Well-Known Member. Promash seems to get rave reviews, but hasn't been updated in a while.

General Homebrew Discussion. Will Pearled Barley sprout? I'm still using ProMash as well. Too much effort and not enough reward to switch. I am in the same boat as OldSock. It even runs fine on my Linux laptop through Wine.
I tried Beersmith a couple of years back and switched back to Promash after one recipe. Same here. Still using Promash. Close to 8 years now. I just update what I need. To bad it never got updated. Solid product! Won a copy of Beersmith, but this old engineer is of the of it ain't broke mentality.
Heck even moving from beersmith 1 to beersmith 2 was frustrating for me at first. Glad I did though, as beersmith 2 is much better once you get to know the ins and outs of it.

Also has there been any new lists of malt, hops or yeast databases that could be imported as well? Posted 08 July - AM. I normally run mine from the desktop but I've taken the flash drive to brewdays away and run the program on a laptop.
Ok so just copy the whole promash directory into my external hard drive then install promash on the new computer and import the files from the external hard drive?
Or can I just run promash from the external hard drive? I'm on 7 and didn't need to do anything special that I can recall. It's been a while, though. No problems here. You just need to move the whole ProMash directory to the new computer. In my case, I put the stuff that I modify in my home directory in My Documents.
Posted 08 July - PM. I think that's how I fixed it. I'm guessing the Program Files directory in Win7 is not writable.
