I worked as the Manager for the Central Dist. Center for nearly a year until Covid hit. At which point, amidst their downsizing "due to company restructuring" received an email and only an email stating that my position had been removed. When I had called to inquire and receive any constructive criticism pertaining to my time there, I was met with answering machines and "out of office" voicemails.

Not even a character reference after being told, numerous times, by the current Regional Distribution Manager at the time, that they'd be calling me within a few weeks to report back to work. Now, the company is family owned and run with a hierarchy that prevents any real collaborative decision making unless it goes through the owner first. As someone who is very progressive and open to offer new ideas, this had become extremely demoralizing over the months, as more and more concerns in their operations had revealed themselves and provided the company with reason for new implementations, which was never acknowledged or acted upon when the issues were raised..

Indeed featured review The most useful review selected by Indeed. New store manager leaves little time in the morning for cashing in till. Management are very demanding even though they don't fully train their employees.

As a cashier, there's a lot of protocols you need to learn like returns, accounts, PST exempt, etc. There's one senior cashier that has an attitude, not very helpful to new cashiers and sometimes is even the reason new cashiers resign. The rest of the employees are nice and easy to get along with.

Pros Employee discount. Cons Not enough training for sales associates and cashiers. Was this review helpful? Yes No. Report Share. You receive minimal training and are expected to prove maximum potential with minimum instructions. The staff are helpful and nice but the managers have a superiority complex. Cons - Clock out station is far from the break room 25 min break instead of One of the worst industries you can ever think of working in.

The Management is totally amateur and full of flaws. No freedom at work. Unpaid Break time. If they don't like you they will put more workload on you. Barnacle of work division is very poor.

And no help from the management. Pros unpaid break. Yes There are 2 helpful reviews 2 No. Non-commission based sales provide a sense of teamwork. Lots of great repeat customers that give you a sense of family and belonging. Some delays with recieving stock from head office. Inventory count isn't as scary as they make it seem. If you can count beyond your fingers and toes, you'll do just fine at inventory.

Unprofessional managers and disrespectful owners , they would give you no training but will expect you to do great. Very unorganized inventory management, warehouse is screwed up as you won't find the products where they should be. No matter how hard you work, you are always get a negative feedback. High turnover, have seen more than 20 employees just walking out on their job.

Worst place one can work for. Not the right company to grow in. Just a matter of time , once they found a cheap replacement for you, you are gunna let go. No paid break , only one 30 min lunch throughout the whole shift. So if you have a better opportunity while you are working there, just don't give it a second thought. If you understand the actual value of your work, you will be phased out through harassment. Typical family business: if you aren't family, you are going to be ground into the dust. Offer nothing more. Pros Higher than average starting wage. Yes There are 9 helpful reviews 9 No.

Starting there was fine, but within a few months it was clear that management had no clue how to motivate employees or assign tasks. Tons of scapegoating low to mid-level employees to cover up management incompetence, and 0 HR support. Far more stress and workplace politics than it's worth. Pros Some coworkers are nice.
