Unbeaten by Rain
I learned from my mindfulness mentor, that a highly respected and popular Japanese poet, Miyazawa Kenji's poem "Unbeaten by Rain" exactly shows the spirit of mindfulness.
I quote some impressive lines.
"Whatever happens,
consider yourself last, always put others first
Understand from your observation and experience
Never lose sight of these things........"
"In the east, if there is a sick child
Go there and take care of him
In the West, if there is an exhausted mother
Go there and relieve her of her burden...." (Translation by Catherine Iwata et all.)
It's a long but wonderful journey to practice mindfulness to be a person like this.
