I found myself chuckling at the sheer absurdity of many of the scenes in the film. All of the mystery and creepiness of Michael Myers is non-existent in this Halloween. There are a few moments that had me on the edge of my seat, but very few. The characters in the film were awful and I did not care one bit about them. You obviously root for Laurie because of the original film, but they tried to make her into some badass GI. Jane type person in this doesn't neccesarily work too well. This is not the proper sequel Halloween needs and I don't know if we will ever get it. It's certainly better than most of the other films in the franchise but it still falls short. However poorly executed it may be, It'll provide mild entertainment atleast and can be a solid halloween season movie to kick back and watch.

Being an avid Halloween fan, I eagerly awaited this release. I have always enjoyed the brilliance and simplicity of the original movie but this was neither, unfortunately. David Gordon Green seemed to change his direction several times throughout and there isn't much cohesion. I didn't know if I was watching a sequel to John Carpenter's masterpiece, a correction to the other sequels including Rob Zombie's interpretations, Laurie Stode's vengeance or a fluff piece for teenagers.
