ヤンキース新監督会見

現地12/6にジョージラルディーの後任のアーロンブーン氏が監督就任会見を行った。

ブーン監督は現役時代の2007年リーグ優勝決定戦で、サヨナラ弾を放ちワールドシリーズ出場を決めたことで有名。

[ブーン監督]　最終的には勝ち負けの数で判断されるのはわかっている。それがヤンキースというチャンピオンを目指すチームであるからだ。

ただ、監督として毎日単純に勝利を追いかけるということではない。

私は勝利へ向かうプロセスにフォーカスする、そしてそうすることで選手たちのベストを引き出すことができると思う。

[レポーター]　水曜日の午後にヤンキースは新たな時代に突入した。

アーロンブーン新監督がヤンキース33代目監督として紹介された。

ブーン氏は3年契約で2021年は球団が選択権を持つ。

背番号は17に決まり、前ヤンキースのプレイヤーとしての監督はブーン氏で18人目となった。

ただし1946年以来初めての監督、コーチ経験のない就任となる。

A new era of Yankees baseball was ushered in on Wednesday afternoon 

when Aaron Boone was introduced as the 33rd manager in franchise history.

He signed a three year contract with a club option for the 2021 season, donning a number 17 jersey who become the 18th former Yankee to go on to manage the team but the first since 1946 with the no privious managerital ot coaching experience.
