still/yetの使い分け

Hi everybody!

There are two ways to say 「まだ」 in English, “yet” and “still,” so it`s a little confusing for many students. 混乱している生徒さんが多いみたいですから練習しましょう！ 

肯定文の場合は “still” + 現在進行形を使いましょう。

 For example…

・Itsuki is still sleeping. (イツキ君はまだ寝てる。)

・Are you still working? (まだ仕事してるの？)

否定文の場合は現在完了形 + “yet” を使いましょう。 

For example…

・I haven`t eaten yet today. (今日まだ食べてない。)

・He hasn`t called me yet. (彼からまだ電話来てない。)

・I haven`t been there yet. (まだ行ったことない。)
