The phrase we use to talk about what it is made of or from has slightly different meanings between the two. 

・The table is made of wood. (材料がそのまま製品となっていて、見た目にも材料が何かわかる)

・Paper is made from wood. (原料の性質が変化して製品となっている)

and also…”into” is used for the process. 

・Wood is made into paper. (原料が製品にされる)
