The year is 1983. Author Blake Block of Kettleton Hampshire, England — Blake Bates to her readers, separates only briefly from her loving husband, Anthony "Tony" Bates. Although a horror book writer, she wanted to try something new. She has rented out the Lovecroft mansion in order to help gather some inspiring information for her next book; a young boy had died in Lovecroft mansion. The mansion is located in a small community called Kettleton Heights; known only to house the wealthy and powerful, and ghosts running amuck like stray animals. With the help of local black cab driver, Arold Cray, she decides to go deeper into the tragedy by communicating with Arran Lovecroft, the son of Robert Lovecroft, and the heir of the MarinaLovecroft boat fortune that was willed over to Arran by his mother, the late Elaina Marina Lovecroft. Arran had vengefully renamed himself Arran Croft...his father provoked back with the same surname change. Arran has been incarcerated in Hampshire prison since 1976, the year his wife and lover had gone missing. Along with the missing is Arran's illegitimate son; a child that had been kept hidden from the public. With nothing to support his innocence and no bodies found, he was arrested and charged with their murders. But as Blake is getting more involved with the Lovecroft mansion and its background, something in the shadows has been paying her a visit and another wants her gone.
