楽しい合意形成｜Fun Consensus Building

何かを決める時には多数決で決めるのが良いと学校で教えられた。またディベートでいかに自分の意見が正しいかを論破するスキルが大切と言われた時期もあった。しかし大学の先生との会話で、合意形成のプロセスを踏むのが一番良いという話を聞いた。これは賛成の意見や反対の意見だけでなく、その他の人の意見も聴きながら、みんなでもっと良い第３のやり方を生み出すプロセスだという。最初は意見が対立しても、最後は共に良いアイデアを生み出せ納得感が生まれる。時間がかかるようでも結果的には一番速いそうだ。合意形成というと意見調整の大変な作業だと思っていたけれど、実はとてもクリエイティブで楽しいことなんだなぁ。（絵と文：サカキテツ朗）

I was taught at school that when deciding something, it is better to decide by majority vote. There was also a time when it was said that the skill to refute the correctness of one's opinion in a debate was important. However, in a conversation with a university professor, she told me that the best thing to do is go through a process of consensus building. This is a process in which not only opinions for and against, but also other people's opinions are listened to to create a better third way of doing things together. Even if there are conflicting opinions at first, in the end, they can come up with good ideas together and have a sense of satisfaction. It takes time, but it seems to be the fastest in the end. I thought consensus building was a difficult task of coordinating opinions, but it's actually a very creative and fun thing to do. -Text and illustration by Ted Sakaki
