アッサラームアレイクム！
Assalamualaikum!
私はムスリムになってから、「おしゃれ」をするようになりました。
Since becoming a Muslimah, I have finally become a stylish.
ムスリムになる前、私はファッション・メイクに興味なしだったので、ファッション系の雑誌は読まない、スカートも苦手で、自分の髪をほかの女の子のようにアレンジする方法も知りませんでした。
そこで一番シンプルでよさそうに見える「ジャケット＋Tシャツ＋ジーンズ」のようなカジュアルな恰好をしていました。
Before I became a Muslimah, I was not interested in fashion and makeup.
I didn’t read fashion magazines, like wearing skirts, and know hot to arrange my hairstyle like other girls. So, I kept a more simple and casual style.
そんな私がイスラームに興味を持ってからムスリムのつけているヒジャーブの魅力を知り、 ムスリムになってからはヒジャーブが大好きになっていました。
アルハムドリッラー。
That was the me that became interested in Islam and got to know the beauty of Muslim’s Hijab.
After I became a Muslimah, I fell in love with it. Alhamdulillah.
ムスリムになったばかりの頃、母の反対で私は家族と外出する時にヒジャーブをつけることができませんでした。
しかし、ある時彼女が私にヒジャーブをしてもいいと言ったのです。
At the time, I had just become a Muslimah, I couldn’t wear hijab when I go somewhere with my family because my mother didn’t allow me to do it.
However, she said to me that I would be able to wear a hijab.
「ヒジャーブ被るときは、素敵なドレスを着てね。ジーンズとかズボンは履かないで。ヒジャーブ姿に合わないから。それをするならヒジャーブをつけてもいい。」
“When you wear a hijab. Please wear a nice dress and don’t wear jeans or trousers. They don’t suit it. If you do it, you can wear a hijab all the time.“
私は当時、ヒジャーブ姿のときにはジーンズを履いていました。
イスラームではムスリマは外ではアウラ（覆うべき部位）を隠しますが、肌を見せているわけではないので、何もおかしくないと思っていました。
体のラインを出すことも実はムスリマの女性としてふさわしい服装ではないことだと気づいていなかったのです。
しかし、それは突然ヒジャーブをつけることを反対していたノンムスリムの母に教えられました。
At that time. I wore jeans with a hijab.
In Islam, Muslimah should cover Awrah (part of your body which you should hide) outside, but I thought it was fine because I didn’t show my skin.
I didn’t notice that It was not a good style for a Muslimah to show the body line.
However, I was taught by my non-Muslim mother who was against my hijab.
「外にヒジャーブを着て出かけたら、皆があなたを見る。皆がイスラームを理解しているわけではないし、ムスリムの知り合いがいる人は多くないから、あなたをみて『日本人ムスリム』はこういう感じなんだと考える。つまり、日本であなたがヒジャーブを着て外出したら、あなたはあたかもムスリムの代表のようになる。だからきちんとムスリムとして美しい服装でいなさい。」
“ If you go out wearing a hijab, people will look at you. Not all people understand Islam and not many people have Muslim friends. So, they will think that Japanese Muslims” are like this when they see you. Therefore, when you wear a hijab in Japan, you will be like a representative of Muslims. So, you should wear beautiful clothing as a Muslim properly. “
これが私が冒頭に書いた通り、「おしゃれ」をし始めたきっかけです。
「おしゃれ」とは決して注目を集めるためのものだけではありません。
ムスリムとして「おしゃれをする」ということは、「アッラーの教えに従って、ムスリムとしての身なりに気を配る」ということです。
私はこの「おしゃれ」を通して、外から見てもムスリムとしていられることで、自分のアイデンティティー日本人ムスリムーを確立することができました。
また、同時に人に良いイメージを与えることができるのです。
インシャアッラー。
This is a start to be a stylish as I’ve wrote at the beginning.
“Being a stylish” is not for attracting attention.
Being a stylish as a Muslimah is paying attention to our appearance while following Allah’s teaching.
I could be a Muslimah from outside and establish my identity - Japanese Muslimah - through this “being a stylish”.
At the same time, I have been able to give a good impression to people.
