Khatija made her singing debut in the year 2010 from the song Pudhiya Manidha from the movie Enthiran which was directed by Shankar. She shared her status as a singer also involved herself in different corporate jobs.
At first, after completing different internships under various popular programs Khatija joined a company called Bhumi in which she worked as a Management Trainee in the year 2016 where she manages different finance-related work of the company. Then she became the Project manager of YM Movies Private Ltd for 7 months in the year 2018.
Earlier in the year 2016, she was honored as a trustee of her father’s foundation AR Rahman foundation in the year 2016 and holding the same position till now. In March 2021 she started working on Freelance projects and continued it.
