Buddha was born to an Australian-Chinese family. His father Tze Kwon Lo/ Tony Lo was a 5-star hotel and restaurant honor in their hometown. Buddha Lo’s father died just before the two days when he was going to win the show, Top Chef. Budha dedicated his final dish Mongolian Lamb to his father at the show.
His father died due to cancer. His ‘s father was the fifth kid in his family and hails from Hong Kong. He died at the age of 65 years. Tony Lo married Sau Lin when he migrated to Australia. On 2nd June 2022 when Lo won the show Top Chef he cried with happiness and shared his happiness with his mother and one brother.

When Buddha Lo was 19 years old he started gaining experience in cooking and culinary by working for Raymond Capaldi who is one of the best chefs in Australia. Then he moved to London where he got his dream job to work for Clare Smyth and Matt Abe at the 3Michelin star Restaurant, Restaurant Gordon Ramsay at Royal Hospital Road. Working there for two years he won the Gordon Ramsay excellence Award. He then switched his journey to success toward Europe. Residing in Europe he worked in the Michelin Star Kitchens in Sweden, Copenhagen, London, and France. Then later he returned to Australia.
