Pakistan's Worst Flood in History
Pakistan's geographical presence is in a dangerous part of the world. According to various reports, Pakistan may face a slew of disasters as a result of climate change in the near future. And now Pakistan is facing the greatest flood in its history. Heavy monsoon rains cause the worst flooding in a few weeks, affecting over 33 million people.
Over 900 deaths have been reported, and the flood has displaced a large number of people since June. Southern Punjab, KPK, Sindh, and Baluchistan are particularly hard hit. The country's weather forecasting agency issues warnings of impending rains and reports to federal and provincial governments, allowing them to take immediate action to deal with the situation.
The country also faced a flood in 2010, which affected 78 districts, but this year's flood affects over 150 districts and is rated as the worst flood in Pakistan's history. Food shortages, deterioration of homes, and continuous rains in affected areas compound the damage to both human lives and wealth. Over 2 million people relocate to safe areas and stay in government-provided shelter homes.
Various countries are assisting the government and people of Pakistan. It is time for every international country to step forward to assist Pakistan's people in their time of need. It is a situation in which humanity's suffering must be addressed with all available resources in order to prevent further damage.
Remit Choice stands firmly with the Pakistani people during this worst-case scenario and will remain so until the disaster is over and lives return to normal. Because humans are everything to us, and when they need us, they will find us in any part of the world. Everyone, whether inside or outside the country, must assist the Pakistani people during this difficult time because humanity is suffering greatly.
