He later played for the New England Patriots, Oakland Raiders, Seattle Seahawks, New York Jets, Atlanta Falcons. Adams did not have much successful NFL career, as he played only 6 seasons in the NFL. He last played in NFL for the Atlanta Falcons in 2015. He played college football for the South Carolina State Bulldogs and was a Fist-team All-MEAC honoree. He underwent surgery which included several screws being inserted into his leg. The 49ers released Adams in September 2011. The New England Patriots signed Adams in September 2011. The Patriots waived and re-signed Adams twice in October 2011. Adams recorded his first interception in the NFL on 21 November 2011. The Patriots waived Adams in the same month. He recorded 8 tackles, 1 interception, and 1 pass deflection for the Patriots.The Seattle Seahawks signed Adams in December 2011. He made only 1 appearance for the Seahawks before being released in August 2012. The Oakland Raiders signed Adams in September 2012. In the 2012 season, Adams recorded 15 tackles (13 solo), 2 interceptions, and 5 pass deflections in 15 games for the Raiders. The Raiders placed Adams on the injured reserve list in December 2012. Adams shot 6 people at a house in Rock Hill, South Carolina on 7 April 2021. 5 of them including Dr. Robert Lesslie, his wife, and two grandchildren died. One of them was seriously injured. An initial investigation took no time to identify Adams as the prime suspect. Adams shot himself following a standoff with police officers on the next day on 8 April 2021.
