She got kidnapped around 4 a.m when she went jogging near the University of Memphis on 2nd September 2022. Later her body remains were found on September 5, 2022, 7 miles away from where she was kidnapped by Cleotha Abston.

When police began the investigation they found that Cleotha Abston’s DNA matched the sample found by investigating team near the pair of Eliza Fletcher Sandals. Eliza’s Sandal was recovered by police in an investigation. These sandals were recovered by police from the place where Eliza was last seen by the witness and in CCTV cameras.
