寄り道｜Detour

ムスメの保育園からの帰りが大変だ。自分で歩くといってベビーカーを拒否。ちゃんと歩いてくれればいいのだが、寄り道が続く。キラキラした看板の前に座り込んで、なんて書いてある？の連発。好奇心旺盛といえばポジティブだが、子どもの意思を尊重すると、とても今日中には家に帰れそうもない。会社帰りに一杯寄り道したくなる親だから気持ちもわからなくはないけれど、結局泣き叫ぶムスメを抱き抱えて帰る。将来ムスメの帰宅が遅い！というパパになるのかなぁ。（絵と文：サカキテツ朗）

It's hard for me to come home with my daughter from nursery school. She refused to get on the stroller saying that she could walk by herself. It would be nice if she walked properly, but her detours continued. She sits in front of a shiny sign, asking me what it says. Being curious is positive, but if I respect her will, it's unlikely that I'll be able to go home the same day. I understand what she wants because I want to stop by before coming back home. But in the end, I held her screaming in my arms and went home. I am afraid that I may be a dad who always worries about my daughter coming back late. -Text and illustration by Ted Sakaki
