　「ことちゃんが、あれから車の中で大泣きしたのよ。指輪がないって。中華屋さんに確認したいから、おばあちゃん、レシート見せてって。でもレシートはいらないですって、レジで言ったし。でも車に乗るとき、指輪しているのみたのよ。だから、よく探してごらんって言ったら、車の座席に落ちているのが見つかって。そんな様子を見て、なんだかかわいいなーと思ったし、330円なんだけど、値段じゃなくて、物を大切にすることは、とてもいいことだなと思って、ことちゃんを褒めたわ」

母からの電話でした。

　私は、姪と原宿竹下通りにある小学生御用達のギャルショップが入っているショッピングビルへ行きました。姪もはじめてなので、どこにお目当てのショップがあるのかよくわからずに歩いていたところ、竹下通りの最後の方に路面店がありました！

　まだ11歳の小学生にとって、自分でじっくり選ぶなんて経験ははじめてでしょう。だから、暇なおばさんは、姪に口出しをせずに、自分で服を選んでもらうようにサポートしていました。カリスマ販売員時代を思い出しながら。

　最初に、ツイード調のキュロットスカートが決まり、次にLosanglels と書いてあるオフホワイトのスウェットに決まりました。アクセサリーコーナーも立ち寄ることにしました。指輪330円。ペンダント700円でしたが、結構よくできていてカワイイ！

　１時間半かけて、原宿竹下通りでの人生初のお買い物。そんなじっくりと選んだ人生初のリングだから、330円のリングはプライスレスになったというわけです。

　だから大泣きしたのでしょう。おばさんも忘れられない１日となりました。
