Omar Sy is a French actor and comedian born on 20th January 1978 in Trappes, France. He is the first recipient of African descent to win the César Award which he earned for his role in The Intouchables. He is known for his sketches with Fred Testot and his role in The Intouchables, and internationally for his roles in X-Men: Days of Future Past and Jurassic World.

Omar then went to Los Angeles, where he lent his voice to Zip in the French version of the Tomb Raider Legend video game. He previously had also voiced a sheep in Disney’s Brother Bear.
In 2008, he appeared in “Bienvenue chez les Bylkas”, a video clip by Sinik. In 2009, he voiced some of the characters of Logorama with his partner Fred Testot.
In 2011, he starred in The Intouchables, playing a streetwise young man who becomes the personal care assistant to a wealthy quadriplegic (played by François Cluzet). This film enjoyed tremendous popular success, with more than 19 million tickets sold. It topped the French box office in 2011 and became the best selling French film of all time at the French box office. As a result, Omar Sy was voted third favourite French personality behind Yannick Noah and Zinédine Zidane.
The role earned him the 2012 Globe de Cristal for Best Actor. He also received a nomination for a Satellite Award for Best Actor. He and co-star François Cluzet jointly were bestowed the Best Actor Award at the Tokyo International Film Festival. Additionally, he won the César Award for Best Actor in 2012 for the same film.
On 30 December 2012, Omar Sy was voted favourite personality in France, based on a poll run by Le Journal du Dimanche, ahead of fellow actor Gad Elmaleh.

Hélène Sy is the wife of the French actor Omar Sy and the founder of the CéKeDuBonheur association. She spent her childhood in Lower Normandy, then moved to Paris to become a speech therapist. It is there that she meets Omar Sy. From then on, they do not leave each other anymore. Together, they have four children, two girls and two boys.
Following the growing fame of Omar Sy especially with the American cinema, the couple decided to settle in the United States for the balance of the children and for practical questions. Inspired by the activities of her mother who is a very committed social worker, Hélène Sy created the CéKeDuBonheur association in 2005. This association helps to improve the daily lives of hospitalized children.
The young woman manages to mobilize many celebrities to his cause, including Valérie Damidot or the actress Leïla Bekhti who is the godmother of the association. In addition to being the founder of CéKeDuBonheur, Hélène Sy takes care of all the communication and the management of the volunteers.

After being labeled a French black cinema icon, and then winning the Lumière award (essentially the French equivalent of the Golden Globes), in the Best Actor category, our man Omar Sy later picked up a nomination for the highest acting honor in France, the César Award for Best Actor – the French equivalent of the Oscar/Academy Award).
The awards ceremony just wrapped up in Paris, and let me be one of the first Statesiders to say congrats to Mr Sy for winning the César Award for Best Actor.
I did some research, looking at the long list of all the actors who’ve won the award in that specific category (Best Actor) since they were first given out in 1976, and I determined that he’s made history, being the first black man to win that particular award. But our French readers can correct me on that if I’m incorrect, although I don’t believe I am. I looked up every single actor who’s won the award, and none of them is black… until now anyway.

“There are no rules to be a good father, no ideal dad’s instructions,” says Omar Sy in an interview with “Version Femina” magazine . “We learn, we do with what we are.” Dad of four children, the actor of “Untouchables” is a man filled. But he was less than 25 when he had his first child, and he had to adapt, with his wife Hélène Sy: “The first times she left me alone with the baby, there were moments of panic. But we face and grow at the same rate as the child. I am not the same father with my four children, I adapt to their personality. ”
And her children are now happy: “Watching my sons and daughters grow is what fascinates me the most in life,” says Omar Sy. But paternity rhymes with responsibility: “As I became a very young dad and my wife has character, I quickly realized that to allow me to stay a child, the first thing to do was to become an adult. If I had been in denial of responsibility, reality would have caught me. It should have grown suddenly and I would not have had time to mess at all. But assuming my role as husband and father early on allows me today to have free time. ”
Free time to have fun and enjoy life. “As I did my homework, I allow myself recreation. And I have the chance to practice a trade that is a recreation. On a set, I like being a kid: flee dinosaurs in Jurassic World, have super powers in X-Men, run after Tom Hanks in Inferno … “And when he comes home, Omar Sy removes the costume of actor to put on the one of super daddy. “I read somewhere that being a daddy is making memories. When I’m gone and they think about me, I want them to have the banana and say, “He was funny this guy!” This is the legacy I hope to leave them ”
It is in Los Angeles, where he has been living for a few years, that Omar Sy lives with his lovely family. A move necessary for his career but difficult for the actor: “Everyone spoke quickly, I heard only sounds, it did not mean anything. It was a real pain, but I did violence and my wife helped me a lot. “And Omar Sy can always count on his children to help him:” Today, when there is noise or too much I still have to ask my daughters. Dr. Knock: trama, cast curiosity of film with Omar Sy

Beginning at 9:20 pm, the French comedy of a historical theatrical text from the French Alps will be on TV
Sunday 10 June, in prime time on Channel 5 starting at 21.20 , Dr. Knock , a contemporary remake released at the cinema in 2017, of a homonymous French film of the first half of the 50s, in turn based on a published play in 1923 . In practice, this new film directed by Lorraine Lévy comes almost exactly a hundred years later than when the public first read the very first version of the story.

Dr. Knock is a former scammer and a thief, apparently repentant, who ended up being a doctor. One day he arrives in the small village of Saint-Maurice decided to make his fortune by applying his “method”: he wants to convince the inhabitants of the place that every healthy person is actually a sick person who has neglected or simply ignores his illness. Thus began to diagnose each of them with a real or imaginary illness. Master in the art of seduction and manipulation, Knock is one step away from achieving his goal until two unforeseen events threaten to wreck his plan: a heartfelt affair and a bleak individual from his past and determined to blackmail him.

Sy is known for taking part in many level productions, lately also American (such as Jurassic World or X-Men: Days of a Past Future ) but has achieved true notoriety at home with Quasi amici – Intouchables . He also took part in Dream Team , Two very special agents, Mood Indigo – The foam of the days, Samba, The taste of success, Mister Chocolat, Inferno .

The village square at the center of the film’s history is called Place Jules Romains, as the author of the play that inspired the original film of 1951 of which this Dr. Knock is the remake .

The film was released in the room not even a year ago but, at least in Italy, has passed almost undercover. In France, however, has obtained mixed reviews while IMDb evaluates it with a 5.8 out of 10. MyMovies does not yet have an evaluation on its site but presents a very detailed synopsis. TvZap appreciates the French comedy and especially Omar Sy, then gives the film a 6 estimate.

A stylishly appointed mini-mansion in the celeb-favored Hidden Hills enclave in the far western suburbs of Los Angeles, owned by French-born actor and comedian Omar Sy has come for sale at a soupçon less than $5 million. The “Samba” and “Chocolat” (2016) star purchased the almost 1.25-acre spread two years ago for $3.5 million. The clapboard-sided and white brick residence opens to a high-glamour, chandelier-lit double-height foyer with sweeping central staircase that’s flanked by a step-down living room with fireplace and a dining room that comfortably seats 10.
