Hi everybody. It`s time to talk about English and it`s time to practice some time expressions. Here are some very common mistakes:
よくあるミステイクNo. 1:
23:00は “twenty three o`clock” ではないですね。日本語でよく二十三時っていうけど英語の場合は “twenty-three o`clock” っていう表現は存在してません。 だいたい三つのネイティブの言い方があります：
① eleven o`clock
② eleven p.m.
③ eleven at night
☆ちなみに、アメリカの軍人は “twenty-three hundred hours” って言うけどそれは軍人の専門語です。普通の日常会話では誰も “~hundred hours” って言わないと思います☆
よくあるミステイクNo. 2:
8:30は “eight-half” じゃありません。 日本語では八時半って言うけど英語に直訳したら “eight-half” になるけどこれは完全なジャパニーズイングリッシュです。 Real English にしたら２つの言い方があります：
① eight-thirty
② half past eight
良くあるミステイクNo. 3:
8:30は “eight-thirty o`clock” ではありません。 ”O`clock” の本当の意味は “of the clock” ですからちょうどの時間の時にしか使いません。So, let`s practice!

If it`s 9:30, you can say, “it`s nine-thirty” or “it`s half past nine” or “it`s nine-thirty a.m.” or “it`s nine-thirty in the morning.”
