アッサラームアレイクム！
Assalamualaikum!
私が人生で初めて出会ったラマダーン月に断食している人は
高校生の時に仲良くなったロシア人の友達でした。
The first person I met who was fasting during Ramadan was
my Russian best friend from my high school days.
彼女と初めて出会ったとき、彼女はムスリムではなかったのですが、
後にイスラームに出会い、改宗することになりました。
When I met her for the first time, she was not a Muslimah.
But she met Islam later and she recited Shahaada.
私たちは同じ学校に通ってはいなかったのですが 本当に仲良く、
時間があればいつも会って遊びにいっていました。
We didn’t go to the same school, but we were very close.
We always met together when we had the time.
休みの時に、彼女とディズニーランドに遊びに行くということになりました。
いつも会うときに彼女は私に小さなプレゼントをしてくれる子で
その時、ディズニーランドにいく道のりで、
彼女は私に今日チーズケーキを作ったからとプレゼントしてくれました。
During our holiday, we planned to go to Disneyland together.
She is a girl who gives me small presents every time we meet.
On one occasion, on the way to Disneyland, she gave me a handmade cake.
「一緒に食べない？」
「今断食中なの。」
「え、たべられないの？大丈夫？何か飲む？」
「水も飲まないよ。」
“Do you want to eat it together?”
“I’m fasting now.”
“Really? You can’t eat? Are you alright? Do you need something to drink?”
“I can’t drink either.”
その日は結構暑い日で、親に熱中症に気をつけなさいと言われるような日ででした。
私は断食中と知らず、ディズニーランドに誘ってしまった彼女を急に心配になりました。
ことあるごとに彼女に大丈夫？何か食べる？水を飲む？と聞いていたのですが、
彼女は普通に断食をしながら、ディズニーランドを楽しんでおり、
私は彼女は凄い人なのだと思い、なぜできるのだろうとか不思議に思っていたのです。
The day was very hot and my mother told me that I should be careful not to get heatstroke.
I became very worried about her because
I asked her to go to Disneyland without knowing she was fasting.
Although I was asking her whether she is fine and whether
she wants to eat or drink, as much as I could,
she enjoyed spending time in Disneyland whilst fasting.
I was wondering why she was able to survive and I thought she was a super girl.
