daisy

just read this article: "top 10 facts about daisies" 

my attention is drawn to this part: 

#6 A daisy is actually two flowers in one 

The (usually) white petals count as one flower and the cluster of (usually) tiny yellow disc petals that form the 'eye' is technically another.

when you look closely, the disk is made up of many tiny flowers squeezed together

the name "daisy" comes from "day's eye", they say

because the whole head closes at night and opens in the morning

can you imagine?

it looks like a tiny sun

and the petals as the rays
