Hi there it's Frank

How are you today?

I just wanted to say a little bit about the climate in Phuket today

Phuket has a tropical climate that is hot all year round, with a rainy season due to the southwest monsoon, which lasts from May to October, and a dry season from December to March. The average temperature is of 28.0 °C (82 °F), with a minimum of 24.3 °C (75.7 °F) and a maximum of 31.6 °C (89 °F)

During the dry season, the northeast monsoon draws cool, dry air from the Asian continent resulting in a slight drop in temperature. This is the high season for tourism in Phuket, when the climate is at its best, characterized by gentle breezes, calm seas and clear blue skies.

The transitional periods between the dry and rainy seasons last for about a month or so and during these periods the weather is often hard to predict. The period before the rainy season, around April – May, is the hottest time of year.

During the rainy season, strong winds bring warm moist air from the Indian Ocean and plenty of rain. The average rainfall in Phuket is about 2500mm or about 100 inches, with the vast majority of it falling within this period. However, there can be periods of several days that are dry, and when it does rain it is very unusual for it to rain all day.

More about Phuket

Phuket, Thailand’s dazzling largest island, is so diverse you may never want to leave. With jade-hued waves concealing rainbows of fish washing white-gold beaches wrapped in Phuketian heritage, it’s no wonder why. The island is just off Thailand’s southwest coast and its capital, Phuket Town, is an animated city of early-morning markets and beeping tuk-tuks.

Tropical beaches, hidden temples, local markets, and a thumping club scene draw those who mellow in the sun and thrive at night. Further inland, Phuket Town’s eateries allow you to dip into chili and blue ginger-spiced dishes, and a stroll through the old quarter opens a window into the layers of its past. Despite its size and geography, there’s plenty of dining, accommodations, and adventure to satisfy luxury travelers and budget-conscious trip takers all year long
