What Only Beige Remembers

　エルサレムで、舞い上がる土ぼこりが世界の輪郭を曖昧にし、すべてをベージュへと溶かしていく光景に出会った。白か黒かの対立が絶えない土地で出会った大地の色。それは、あらゆる人の営みを等しく受け入れてきた色だった。

　この感覚をもとに、エルサレムを中心に各地の土を集めて顔料化し、スマートフォンやコンピュータの画面を構成するピクセル配列を土で描き出した。モニターが放つ光は、ときに現実を単純化し、勝者の理屈を映し出す。その発光する画素を、人の営みを受け止めてきた土塊（つちくれ）へと置き換えることで、情報からこぼれ落ちる手触りを呼び戻す。

　土の画素で世界像を結び直すこの行為は、溢れる情報の彼方にある現実へと手を伸ばすための祈りである。

In Jerusalem, I encountered a scene in which rising dust softened the contours of the world, dissolving everything into beige. In a land marked by constant opposition between black and white, I found the color of the earth—one that has equally received and held all human activities.

Guided by this sensation, I collected soil from Jerusalem and its surrounding regions, refined it into pigments, and used them to recreate the pixel structures that compose the screens of smartphones and computers. The light emitted by monitors can at times simplify reality, projecting the logic of the dominant side. By replacing these luminous pixels with clumps of earth that have borne human presence, I seek to restore a tangible sense that slips through the mesh of information.

This act of reconfiguring the image of the world through earthen pixels is a prayer—an attempt to reach toward a reality that lies beyond the overflow of information.
