Participating in the License Plate Auction: Conditions you need to know

Auctioning car license plates is becoming an interesting trend in Vietnam, allowing people to choose license plates according to personal preferences. However, to participate in this auction, you need to comply with some conditions prescribed by Decree No. 39/2023/ND-CP of the Government. Conditions on Civil Act Capacity

You need to be a Vietnamese person with full civil capacity according to the provisions of law. This ensures transparency and accountability in the auction process.

Participation in Auctions is Not Prohibited

You are not allowed to participate in the auction if you are being prosecuted for criminal liability, detained, serving a prison sentence, or are serving administrative measures at a mandatory drug treatment facility or are serving a prison sentence. Reformatory methods at reform schools. 

People with limited or lost civil capacity cannot participate. 

Fraud, collusion, and collusion during the auction process are also prohibited. 

If you are in debt to the State or a credit institution and have not yet paid off the debt, you cannot participate in the auction.

Financial Conditions

You must pay a deposit according to regulations, calculated by the starting price of the license plate. Deposits can be paid in cash or bank transfer. 

In case of not winning the auction, the deposit will be refunded within 5 working days from the end of the auction.
