Bespack Kanto Factory
This factory produces plastic sheets and molding (such as cookware) with these sheets. Sometimes factories are too big to provide comfort for people to work in. So I divided the factory into 2 parts; large production part and smaller office/dining hall/changing room part, and I designed the smaller part as a human-scale building. I selected earth colors for the façade inspired by this site’s soil, because this site(Kasama) is well-known for producing earthenware from ancient times. So we wanted to respect the history as people who are producing similar wares but with new materials. I made some signs and artworks from an earthenware studio near the site.
