LETTER FROM HAPPY ENGLISH SCHOOL Sep. 18th 2024
Hello, how are you handling the sweltering summer heat? I am wondering how long it will last. It is said that neither summer’s heat nor winter’s cold lasts beyond the equinox. Actually, I have already seen red spider lilies in bloom, which usually appear around the autumnal equinox, and I have heard autumn crickets chirping, which resound through muggy nights, instead of the clamorous sounds of midsummer cicadas during the day. The signs are there, but the long-awaited season has yet to accurately arrive.
We are eagerly longing for a cool autumn, as we have had enough of searing summer days. We hope the turn of the season will come any time soon, otherwise, September will no longer feel like autumn. We need to change our concept of September, don’t we?
