Street foods in Nang Loeng—ผักบุ้งไฟแดง(Pakbun faidaeng)

What a great color!! The smell of garlic made me hungry!! 

It’s called ผักบุ้งไฟแดง(Pak bun faidaeng). ผักบุ้ง(Pakbun)is one of the well-known vegetables in Thailand. 

ไฟแดง(faidaeng) means “red fire”.  Pakbuns are coocked with namplaa(fish sauce), soy beans paste and sweet soy sauce. The important thing is it is fired over a red-hot fire(ไฟแดง). Without that, it’s not ผักบุ้งไฟแดง!! That makes the texture better.
