「福寿院・円通寺」広島県東広島市

円通寺は古くは聖徳太子の時代にまで遡る古刹でしたが現在の伽藍は江戸時代のもの。酒の街・西条の酒蔵に囲まれた寺院。「白波枯山水」は京都竜安寺の石庭をトリビューとして2001年ご住職により作庭されたもので、隣接する福美人酒造の煙突や白壁が借景となっている珍しい庭。この寺院は花の寺でもあり私が訪れたときはちょうど紫陽花が石庭に彩りを添えていました。

"Fukujuin/Entsuji" Hiroshima Prefecture

Entsuji Temple was an ancient temple dating back to the time of Prince Shotoku, but the current building dates back to the Edo period. A temple surrounded by sake breweries in the sake town of Saijo. The main garden of this temple, ``Shiranami Karesansui,'' was created by the chief priest in 2001 as a tribute to the rock garden of Ryoanji Temple in Kyoto.It is an unusual garden, with the chimney and white walls of the neighboring sake manufacturing company serving as a borrowed scenery. This temple is also a flower temple, and when I visited, hydrangeas were adding color to the rock garden.
