🔬🧪「さいえんす？」　読んだ　👓📗✨

「さいえんす？」先週、読了。

すごく薄い本なのでアッと言う間に読めそうだけど、意外に何日かかかった。

つまらなくて、じゃなくて、忙しかったから。

さて、「さいえんす？」、東野さんの「あの頃僕らはアホでした」とはまた全然違うスノボー大好き40代男性の生の声を聴かせてもらって嬉しかった。

血液型で人の性格を判断するのは嫌いな東野さん、東野さんらしい・・・って気がした。

今は、もう67歳くらいかな？　67歳のエッセイって出さないのかな？読みたいな。

作品に関連した話が出てくるが、あ、これは、あの話を書くきっかけになったの？それとも書いている時なの？と思うものがいくつかあった。特に、数学者の話が出てきた時は、めっちゃ、ワクワクした。石神〜〜〜🎵

それから時生（ときお）の話が出てきた時も得した気分になった。ちなみ「容疑者Xの献身」は、英語版を10回は聴いていると思う。「時生」も大好きな作品の一つだ。

最後の「本は誰が作っているのか」が、やはりズシンときたなぁ。

申し訳なさを感じてしまった。

とはいえ、うちにある単行本は、ほぼ、AmazonやTSUTAYA書店などで買ったもので、それらは、ちゃんと貢献してるので、ホッと

した部分もある。

でも「さいえんす？」は、book offで買いました。はい。ごめんね、東野さん。

全部買ってたら、相当な額になっちゃうものね。時代ってことで片付けていいですか？　ダメ？　笑

随分薄い本だけど、東野さんの考え方を感じられたのはファンとしては嬉しい一冊でした。

**“Science?” — finished reading last week.**

It’s such a thin book, I thought I’d breeze through it in one sitting — but surprisingly, it took me a few days.

Not because it was boring — I was just busy!

Anyway, *Science?*.

Unlike Higashino’s *Back Then, We Were Fools*, this one felt like listening to the real voice of a snowboard-loving guy in his forties — and I loved that.

He says he doesn’t like judging people by their blood type — so typical of Higashino, right?

He must be around 67 now? I wonder if he’ll ever release essays from his sixties. I’d definitely read them.

There were a few parts that made me think, “Oh, is this what inspired *that* story? Or was he writing that one around this time?”

Especially when the mathematician part came up — I got so excited. Ishigami~~~🎵

And when he mentioned *Tokio*, too — I felt like I’d stumbled upon a hidden bonus.

By the way, I’ve probably listened to the English audiobook of *The Devotion of Suspect X* at least ten times.

And *Tokio* is one of my all-time favorites.

The last part, *“Who makes books?”*, really hit me.

It made me feel a bit guilty.

But then again, most of the hardcovers I own were bought from Amazon or Tsutaya Bookstore — so I guess I’ve contributed in my own way. That made me feel a little better.

Although... I did buy *Science?* at Book Off. Yep. Sorry, Higashino-san.

If I bought every single book new, it’d cost a fortune, you know?

Can I just chalk it up to “the times”? No? (laughs)

It may be a thin book, but as a fan, I was happy to get a glimpse of how Higashino thinks. A small book — but a satisfying one.
