Making use of our strengths to thrive – Towards building a flexible and sustainable organization

I enjoy watching sports and participating in physical activities, and recently I've been watching rugby, which is in season during winter, about once a month. This fiscal year, our company's first athlete employee, Ms. Natsuki Ouchida, joined the company, and I've had more opportunities to support her in her matches.

Watching matches at Toyota Stadium has also become one of my favorite pastimes.
Ms. Ouchida is a member of the women's rugby team "PEARLS"* and also plays for the Japanese national team.
As she steadily gains experience on both domestic and international stages and produces tangible results, it is a great source of inspiration for me as a member of the same organization.
I would love to see her play overseas, so I plan to make time to watch her in action.

Tackling as a Team

There are several expectations behind our group's decision to welcome athlete employees.
One is that understanding of diverse working styles will naturally spread throughout the company.
Ms. Ouchida comes to work after her early morning training and participates in team activities from the afternoon onward.

Her ability to balance athletics and work serves as a reminder of the importance of self-management and perseverance.
Another important aspect is the value of "connection" in team sports.

In rugby, success comes not only from the individual strength of each player, but also from the team's ability to link passes together.

I believe this concept is applicable to how we conduct business as an organization.

It would be wonderful if everyone could come together under the common goal of supporting our athlete employees as they compete on the world stage.
Ms. Ouchida is aware of her role as a symbol of such expectations and is willing to participate in company events whenever her schedule allows.
