Fifteen years since the Great East Japan Earthquake
To all those who lost their lives,
I offer my deepest prayers.
And please also remember the animals
who died in hunger and cold.
In disasters and in wars,
animals are always the ones left behind,
forgotten.
So many precious souls
whose lives will never be recorded,
never even remembered.

未曾有の地震津波
人だけじゃない沢山の動物が犠牲になった
犠牲になった犬の数だけは報告あったが猫、うさぎ、ハムスター、鳥などの犠牲になった
動物たちの数は不明
そして震災後、原発警戒区域内に取り残された
家畜と呼ばれてる動物、牛豚鶏達の多くが
餓死または殺処分された
震災全体の犠牲は、約 600万頭以上
想像を絶する数の動物たちの命が犠牲に
On March 11, 2011,
the unprecedented earthquake and tsunami struck.
Countless animals, not only humans, were lost.
The number of dogs that died was reported,
but the deaths of cats, rabbits, hamsters, birds,
and many others remain unknown.
And after the disaster, within the nuclear exclusion zone,
many so‑called “livestock”—cows, pigs, chickens—
were left behind and died of starvation
or were killed in mass culling.
The total number of animal lives lost in the disaster
is estimated to exceed six million.
An unimaginable number of lives.

2011 年 3 月 11 日
地震の直後、雪が降りました。
夜になって雪は止み、雲 が去った後の空には
見たことがないくらいたくさんの星が
ひしめき輝いていたそうです
津波にのまれ、寒さに凍えた地上から上空へ
多くの命が吸い込まれて逝きました。
あの夜、余震に怯え空を仰いだ瞳たちには、
同じ星が映っていました
この地球上には、様々な命が共に暮らしています
命はどの命も等しく、大切な命です
世の中には動物の好きな人ばかりではありません
動物が嫌いな人もいます
しかし、好きや嫌いという価値観ではなく、
私たちと同じ、ひとつの命として
自然に思えるようになったら、
もっとやさしい世の中になっていくのでは
ないかと思います
災害はいつ、どこで発生するかわかりません。
私が報告させていただいた問題は
日本だけの問題ではないのです。
動物にも優しくできる社会でなければ真
の平和は訪れないと私は思いますFrom “Precious Little Lives”
On March 11, 2011,
snow began to fall right after the earthquake.
By night, the snow stopped, the clouds cleared,
and the sky was filled with more stars
than anyone had ever seen.
Swept away by the tsunami, frozen by the cold,
many lives rose from the earth
and disappeared into the sky.
That night, in the eyes of those who looked up
in fear of the aftershocks,
the same stars were reflected.
On this planet, many forms of life live together.
Every life is equally precious.
Not everyone loves animals.
Some people dislike them.
