Ensuring individual challenges are not isolated – Towards the New Fiscal Year

2026.04.09 02:43

Dear employees, thank you for your hard work during the 2025 fiscal year.
The business environment surrounding us has changed significantly over the past year.
Our slogan for 2026, continuing from last year, is " Don't be bound by past concepts, seize change as an opportunity, and boldly take on new challenges."
For our group to continue growing sustainably, the continued efforts of each and every individual are essential.

I would like to ask you to do the following:

To Key Personnel:

2029 Sumitomo Riko Group Vision(2029V) calls for “Building a flexible and strong organization.”
Furthermore, as a member of the Sumitomo Electric Group, we will embark on a new stage.
By identifying new synergies between our group’s strengths-such as the technological capabilities we have cultivated-and the business foundation of the Sumitomo Electric Group, we can enhance the overall competitiveness of our group.
By connecting teams across business divisions and group boundaries, let's work together to build a flexible organization that is resilient to change and supports new challenges.

To All Employees:

In order to achieve our 2029V goal, it will be even more important for everyone to maintain a commitment to continuous learning, in line with one of our directions: "Developing people and peers who pioneer the future."
I feel that this approach to learning is steadily shifting from one-way information dissemination activities to two-way communication.
Let's move even further towards "co-creation" this year.
Co-creation isn't simply about creating something new together.
I believe that bringing together challenges and daily insights across organizational boundaries, fostering empathy, and learning from each other is the first step towards co-creation.
This year, let's further strengthen collaboration among teams and members to create new added value.

A commitment to challenge and continuous learning

Regarding the specific expectations I have for each division as we strive towards our group's future vision, my detailed message is included in the April issue of our company newsletter, "Mitsukumi," which was published today.
You can also view it on our company's online newsletter, "Mitsukumi 2," so please take a look.
While company newsletters and this CEO blog might seem like one-way communication, our online company newsletter, "Mitsukumi 2," enables two-way communication through features like "likes," comments, and surveys.
Furthermore, when we meet in person, exchanging feedback and opinions on blogs and other materials provides valuable insights for management decisions and company development.
I myself have reaffirmed my commitment to continuing to challenge myself and learn, effectively utilizing communication tools, and collaborating with others.

Prayers for Safety and Towards 2029V

As we begin a new fiscal year, I once again prayed for the safety of everyone in our group and their families at Ise Grand Shrine.
Under a clear, cloudless sky, I received the prayers with a bright and cheerful spirit.
The prayer amulets have been distributed to the person responsible for safety and health at each of our group's domestic bases.
We plan to formulate our next medium-term management plan, 2029M, this May.
In fiscal year 2026, we hope to take a new step towards 2029V together with all of you.
I sincerely hope that each and every one of you will continue to challenge yourselves in your own unique way in the new fiscal year.
I am truly looking forward to seeing your achievements.
Let's move forward together, valuing the mindset of " Don't be bound by past concepts, seize change as an opportunity, and boldly take on new challenges."
