TSUNAMI VIOLIN ～鎮魂の音色～

2011年、東北地方に甚大な被害をもたらした東日本大震災。ヴァイオリン製作者・中澤宗幸さんは、ヴァイオリニストの妻と瓦礫や流木の映像を見て、大きな衝撃を受けた。そこで中澤さんは、被害の大きかった岩手県・陸前高田市に向かい、瓦礫を材料にしてヴァイオリンを作りあげた。ヴァイオリンの音の要の部品には、津波から唯一生き残った「奇跡の一本松」が使われた。大震災から１０年が経とうとしている現在も震災の経験を風化させないために、そのヴァイオリンを使った演奏のリレーが全国各地で続けられている。鎮魂の絆を育む「TSUNAMI VIOLIN」を紹介する。

Tsunami Violin – The Sound of Remembering

In 2011, violin manufacturer Nakazawa Muneyuki and his wife Kimiko, a professional violinist, were deeply shocked by TV images of the wreckage and uprooted trees left by the Great East Japan Earthquake. Nakazawa decided to make a violin using woods collected from the place hit hardest by the tsunami, Rikuzentakata in Iwate. Around there they find only one tall pine tree survived the tsunami. Thus they all call it “the Miracle Pine” with a praise. Nakazawa decided to use a twig from the Miracle Pine for its sound post, the important part that determines the violin’s tone. After completion he named it the “Tsunami Violin” and has been trying to cooperate with violinists to let it be played in as many concerts as possible to pray the experiences of that terrible day will never be forgotten.

海嘯小提琴――慰靈之音
