Hello everyone! This is Musashi Kosugi Toastmasters Club. 😊
We held our 529th meeting and the first regular meeting of the new Toastmasters year.
Our new Club President opened the meeting with an energetic greeting, and we were delighted to welcome three guests. It was a lively and inspiring start to the year under our new slogan, "Beyond Boundaries."
📖 Word of the Day
The Word of the Day was:
"Open new doors."
It was the perfect expression for a meeting filled with new challenges and fresh beginnings.
The meeting was led by a Toastmaster who took on the role of Toastmaster of the Day for the first time in five years, making it a fitting start to the new year under our slogan, "Beyond Boundaries."
💬 Table Topics Session
The theme of the Table Topics session was "Summer Keywords."
Participants gave impromptu speeches on topics such as fireworks, science projects, typhoons, watermelons, and high school baseball.
Each speaker brought a unique perspective, and the session was filled with humor, creativity, and plenty of laughter.
The TT Evaluator provided his trademark stable, insightful, and humorous feedback.
🎤 Prepared Speeches
Four prepared speeches were delivered, each with a unique and engaging theme.
"What Lines Show"
The first speaker shared stories about fitness, commuting, and taking on a new challenge as a Japanese language teacher, using humor and visual charts.
"Beyond the Lectern"
The second speaker talked about regaining motivation through supporting her son's speech contest challenge and encouraged everyone to return to the lectern.
"Back to Zero"
The third speaker reflected on past setbacks and shared the powerful message that we can always go "back to zero" and begin again.
"What Old Technologies Teach Us About Life in the Age of AI"
The final speaker looked back on older technologies, including floppy disks, dial-up connections, and Japanese mobile phones, and explored what they can teach us about life in the age of AI.
The speeches were humorous, thoughtful, and inspiring, showcasing the wide range of experiences and interests within our club.
📝 Evaluation Session
After the prepared speeches, each speaker received constructive feedback.
The evaluators highlighted each speaker's strengths and offered specific suggestions for further improvement.
The General Evaluator then provided thoughtful observations on the entire meeting and all the role takers.
🌟 Closing
This meeting was a wonderful start to the new Toastmasters year.
Musashi Kosugi Toastmasters Club is a welcoming place where members improve their public speaking, communication, and leadership skills while supporting one another.

皆さん、こんにちは！武蔵小杉トーストマスターズクラブです😊
新年度最初となる第529回例会を開催しました。
新会長のエネルギッシュな開会挨拶で例会がスタートし、今回は3名のゲストにもご参加いただきました。
今期のスローガン「Beyond Boundaries（限界その先へ）」のもと、新しい挑戦にあふれた活気ある例会となりました。
📖 今日の言葉
今回の「今日の言葉」は「Open new doors」。
新しい扉を開くという意味で、新年度の始まりや新たな挑戦にぴったりの言葉でした。
また、今回のTMOD（司会）は、5年ぶりにこの役に挑戦したメンバーが務め、スローガン「Beyond Boundaries」を象徴するスタートとなりました。
💬 テーブルトピックス
今回のテーマは「夏のキーワード」。
花火、自由研究、台風、スイカ、高校野球など、夏らしいお題について即興スピーチが行われました。
それぞれが個性あふれる視点で話し、会場は笑いと和やかな雰囲気に包まれました。
TT論評では、ユーモアを交えながら、的確で温かいフィードバックが贈られました。
🎤 準備スピーチ
今回は4名が、それぞれ異なるテーマでスピーチを披露しました。
「What Lines Show」
運動への挑戦や通勤での出来事、日本語教師としての新たなチャレンジを、チャートを用いながらユーモアたっぷりに紹介しました。
「Beyond the Lectern」
息子さんのスピーチコンテストへの挑戦を支えた経験を通して、自身も再び演台に立つ決意を語り、メンバーに挑戦する勇気を届けました。
「Back to Zero」
過去の挫折を振り返りながら、「うまくいかない時はゼロに戻ってやり直せばいい」という前向きなメッセージを伝えました。
「What Old Technologies Teach Us About Life in the Age of AI」
フロッピーディスクやダイヤルアップ接続、ガラケーなど、かつての技術を振り返りながら、AI時代における技術と人との関わりについて考えさせられるスピーチでした。
ユーモア、人生経験、挑戦、テクノロジーなど、多彩なテーマを通して、多くの学びと気づきが得られる時間となりました。
📝 論評
準備スピーチの後には、それぞれのスピーカーに対して論評が行われました。
良かった点を具体的に伝え、さらに良くするための提案を贈ることも、トーストマスターズの大切な学びです。
総合論評では、例会全体や各ロールテイカーに対して、丁寧で的確なフィードバックが贈られました。

笑いあり、学びあり、そして新しい挑戦にあふれた、新年度にふさわしい例会となりました。
武蔵小杉トーストマスターズクラブは、スピーチ力・コミュニケーション力・リーダーシップを、お互いに励まし合いながら楽しく学べるクラブです。
