法務省は24日、売買春の規制について話し合う有識者検討会を開き、「買う側」の規制も設けるべきという意見を盛り込んだ報告書の案が示されました。検討会で示された報告書の案では現行の売春防止法で処罰対象になっていない「買う側」の勧誘行為などに対し、規制を設けるべきという見解でおおむね一致したことが明記されました。一方、「買う」行為自体を処罰対象にすることは売買春行為が地下に潜り、リスクが高まる恐れがあることから、慎重な検討が必要だと指摘されました。法務省は今後取りまとめられる最終的な報告書をもとに法整備に向けた調整を進める方針です。

近年、社会問題となっている路上売春。いまの売春防止法では、「売る側」にだけ罰則がありますが、法務省が24日、提示した報告書案では、「買う側」の勧誘などについても、新たに罰則を設ける方向で一致しました。
■「買う側」の勧誘にも罰則案 法務省が法改正に向け検討会を設置
東京・歌舞伎町の大久保公園にほど近いホテル街。
多くの女性が路上に立ち、声をかけてきた男性と歩いていく女性や、現金を数える女性も…
今、深刻な社会問題となっているのが「売春の客待ち行為」です。
路上売春をしている女性
「めっちゃ稼いだ日は8〜9万円くらいですかね。生きるために続けていきたい」
こうした売春行為は、売る側（主に女性）と買う側（主に男性）がいて、成立するものですが、摘発されるのは売る側だけです。
売春防止法では、女性が大半を占める売る側の勧誘や客待ち行為に「6か月以下の拘禁刑または、2万円以下の罰金」という罰則が設けられている一方、男性が大半の買う側には罰則がなく、売春行為そのものにも罰則がありません。
路上に立つ女性の中には悪質なホストクラブなどで多額の借金を抱え、売春に追い込まれる女性も少なくありません。
それにもかかわらず、売る側だけが摘発される現状に批判の声が上がり、法務省は今年3月、法改正に向けた議論を進めるため、検討会を設置しました。

未成年者の性的人身売買などの罪に問われ、2019年勾留中に死亡したジェフリー・エプスタイン元被告に関連する３００万ページに及ぶ書類が追加で公開されました。そこには保護するべき被害者の実名や写真などが含まれており司法省のずさんな対応に非難が広がっています。
先月３０日金曜日、司法省は２０００本のビデオと１８万枚の写真を含む新たに３００万ページに及ぶ捜査資料を公開しました。これまで公開されたものも含めると合計３５０万ページが公開されたとしています。
これは、去年１１月エプスタイン元被告に関する全ての捜査資料を公開する法案を議会で可決したことを受けたものです。当初、公開期限を去年の１２月１９日としていましたが一ヶ月以上遅れての公開となりました。

アメリカ・ニューヨークの連邦地検は８日、10代の少女ら数十人に対する性的搾取や虐待などの罪で、元ヘッジファンド経営者の富豪、ジェフリー・エプスタイン被告を、連邦大陪審が起訴したと発表しました。
エプスタイン被告はトランプ大統領やクリントン元大統領らと親交があったことで知られています。
起訴状によりますとエプスタイン被告は、2002年から2005年ごろ、ニューヨークの自宅などで、当時14歳の少女を含む数十人の少女らに現金を支払い、性的関係を持ったということです。また被害にあった少女に金銭を払って別の少女を紹介させ「性的に搾取するための未成年者の巨大なネットワークを自分のために築いた」と指摘しています。
エプスタイン被告は８日、出廷し無罪を主張しました。有罪となれば最高刑は禁固45年です
