Overview
At San Francisco Central Station, amidst the din of the train arriving from New York, six senior journalists waited for the two men who might change the course of the investigation to disembark. The journalists pointed curiously at them, snapping photos and trying to record details, but the two men were like walking enigmas, revealing only subtle features and perplexing expressions. One of them wore a face hidden behind a handkerchief, while his hands held suspicious gestures. Nothing could be seen or heard by the journalists; he was the silent killer. Questions rained down on them: "Did you kill him? Why?" Each time they tried to get them to speak, the answers were met with a chilling silence. Even the mayor accompanying them couldn't utter a word, his silence only deepening the mystery. Then, back in jail, the lawyer met with the accused, who remained silent despite all attempts at persuasion. Dr. Talbot, a man of considerable social standing, was the man the accused was believed to have killed. But why? What was he hiding? What was the secret that haunted Dr. Talbot? Many questions, but the answer remains a mystery.
