I'm so happy. That's one of my dreams to travel alone. no discover the world my own... this movie is so important. i watched it two days back and I can't stop thinking about it since. I travelled in a airplane for the first time when I was 16 and that was all by myself. Flying over 1800 Km without a family member and that too for the first time. in the airport I met a girl. On talking to her I got to know she was traveling alone. She came from Israel, probably hiked) through Vietnam and a few other countries and then came to Delhi, India (where I live) and then she was traveling to Mumbai and then back home. Her name is Mikka (idk if I'm spelling this correct) but it was lovely to know she was traveling all by herself. After I told her that I was traveling alone too and I was just 16, she was so happy and asked me to take care and have a safe flight. She was 20 btw.
I find it hilarious how movie makers take hot actresses and try to make them look nerdy/average in a specific character role. They think they can take hot women, throwthem in conservative clothes, and that automatically makes them relate-able. You wanna make a female character look really average? Then get a actress who has acne, is a little over-weight, facial features slightly disproportionate, and clothes that are always slightly wrinkled. Now, THERE'S a realistic, average, ordinary-looking female.

I haven't watched it just yet, but as someone who frequently hikes in and around the San Gabriel Mtns here in socal, i can honestly say im really curious about this flim. It's not a ripoff of Into the Wild. It's a true story of Cheryl Strayed's experience walking the trail. The book is excellent. I highly recommend it.
