There is a listing of data analysis tools for Mac OS X here. Total downloads:55 (1 last week) Most of the time you'll never have to worry about having to install a new operating system on your Mac - the one that's on there should work fine through thick and thin. But every once in a while you might want or need to - here are step by step instructions for making it happen. You can also create a custom RSS feed from any combination of filters. As others have noted, this program handles large data sets well (at least up to 100,000 data points, from my experience). On the other hand, the UI for this program is poor. The documentation is sparse and nothing is intuitive. Some basic features seem to be missing, others replaced by counter-intuitive behavior. For example, attempting to zoom in on part of a chart will actually modify the chart by changing the axis bounds to accomplish the zoom. What do you think? I think it is a very good idea! Would it work the way you want if these handlers were scripts, placed in e.g. Library/Application Support/AquaTermHooks or something, letting you hook into events such as applicationDidFinishLoading, applicationShouldTerminate, and cmd-N/W/Q/P (and their menu bar equivalents). Then you could hook up any executable in a way that is much more Mac-like using your preferred scripting language. Thanks for the feedback, Per
