Star Festival is a day celebrating the annual meeting of Vega and Altair based on legend. Bamboo branches are decorated with colored strips of paper with wishes written on them in Japan.

七夕は、織女星（おりひめ星）と牽牛星（ひこ星）にまつわる伝説に基づいて、その年の一度の出会いを祝う日です。日本では願い事を書いた短冊と呼ばれる細長い紙を笹に結びつけて飾ります。
