Solo Exhibition "Don't look at me"

CARTEL artspace / Bangkok Thailand

2018 February-April

"Don't look at me" Human zoo, human eyes, in animal minds and bodies…looking at ourselves… interrogating our own situation of prisoner… the glim of Janus, double face in ‘the state of the mirror’ … …nobody remember, the origin of the jail… the reason of our/their situation, but it seems visible that they lost the taste of the world, on the other side… In anthropocentric loops, we have no other way to apply our own pathology to look at them, to question their/our degree of voluntary / un-voluntary servitude, to perceive their protest screaming in a mute mode… In case of contact with those DNA brothers (monkey), with the temptation of a clumsy finger through the barricade of their cell, we face the jailer… we are, to provoke an “encounter of the first kind” reaction : to be bitten or ignored… hoping to trigger a furry teddy bear dance, crooning, warbling, as an animated toy for our entertainment… a puppet jumping and screaming… able to trespass is their pantomimes the void of their eyes, in-expressive, revealing simultaneously an absence and resentment…on both side… and the degree of our own “malentendu”… In Mika Tamori show, we could think that we assist with impunity to the final report of a zoology case studies, passing through with a certain levity, as an intellectual antidote… we could also for the ones which are not in the amnesia of the ‘zeitgeist’ facing the metaphor political actual situation, and recognize in this bestarium of portraits (including Mika herself)…the prisoners, facing the absurdity of their destiny… weariness, disenchanted, dis-abused, disillusioned… a polyphony of voices, in an herd of post human, men, women, trans, beasts… requesting now for account… The Pata zoo, from where the eyes has been collected, is located on a roof of department store in Bangkok. This 5 floors construction is submitted to the permanent top down leaking, which flow through slabs, stairs, walls, corrupted by urination and tears, blood and semen… from the cages… for the decay of our promenade in the corridor of society...a special incense has been produced from this leaking… disgusting. In this universe which smell anus, sex, tears, frequent urination and mammal masturbation, blood and semen, the Eyes behind the cages are looking at us... multiple vanishing points flickering their ineffable revolt... Someone said 'human', too much human?
