子育てで親ができることなんて、

実は殆どなくて、

毎日笑顔でいて、ちゃんとご飯を食べさせること。

今は赤ちゃんだから分からないが、

大きくなるにつれ、 

わが子を比べず、

他人の価値基準で測らないことの

何とも難しいことか。

そうなった時は、

精一杯、踏みとどまりたいな、と思う。

成績や点数に執着し、

子どもを盆栽状態にするのではなく、

どの道に進んでも成功できる土台を

つくってあげること。

それには、愛情と家事（先読み、段取り）、

だそうです。

My kids aren't bonsai trees.

They're wildflowers of an unknown genus and species and it's my job to provide a nourishing environment, to strengthen them through chores

and to love them so they can love others and receive love and the college, the major, the career, that's up to them.

My job is not to make them become what I would have them become, but to support them in becoming their glorious selves.
