パーフェクトストームからの教訓

年末年始はビデオ三昧の生活でした。　｢グリーンマイル｣や｢グラディエーター｣などを見ましたが、中でも実話を題材にした｢パーフェクトストーム｣からは教えられることがありました。

アメリカの東海岸沖のことです。　ある漁船の船長とその乗組員は不漁続きのために再度、新たな魚場を求めて､遠海まで漁に行くことになりました。

こんどは大漁となりましたが､天候が怪しくなってきました。　嵐の気配です。　戻ろうとする方向に今までにない大嵐がくるとの気象情報が入りました。　更に､悪いことに冷凍庫が故障してしまいました。

ここで､船長とその乗組員は重大な判断に迫られました。

冷凍庫が故障したので､早く帰らなければ､魚が腐ってしまい、すべてが無駄になってしまいます。

収入がなくなり､貧乏な生活､借金生活を余儀なくされます。　大漁のまま帰えれれば､豊かな生活が出来ます。

しかし､大嵐で遭難すれば命がないかも知れません。

早く戻るべきか､それとも大漁をあきらめ大嵐を回避するべきか？

結果的に､戻ることを決断したその漁船は１００年に一度の大嵐に巻き込まれ、必死の操縦もむなしく､全員が海の藻屑となり､死んでしまいました。

私は､タイタニック号の遭難のようにせめて､一人ぐらいは救助艇などに助けられるかと見ていただけに､非常にショックでした。　タイタニック号の場合は外見を重視するあまり､救命ボートの数を少なくしてしまい､多くの人命が失なわれてしまいました。

以上の海難事故からの教訓は次の通りです。

どんな場合にも外見や欲望に負けずに､最悪のケースを想定し､生命を最優先に考えること。

そして、勇気をもって決断すること。

The teachings of perfect storm.

I watched fully video tape movie at the end of the year and the first of the new year.

I watched Green Mile and Gladiator etc. In all movie, I got teachings from Perfect Storm of a real story.

The place was far from east coast of USA. One captain and clue decided to go new fishing area far from the coast. Because last time, they did not get many fishes.

This time, they could catch many fishes. But the weather was getting worse day by day. They caught a weather forecast which perfect storm will come to their home direction. In addition, the freezing machine was broken for fishes.

So, the captain and clue had to decide great decision.

As the freezing machine was broken, they must return quickly to save many fishes.

If they do not do so, every things will be in vain. They will not get income and will be poor. They will be in debut.

But if they come across perfect storm, they may lost their life.

To return quickly or to avoid perfect storm?

At last, they decided to return quickly. So, they drove the ship as soon as possible.

But the ship was caught by the perfect storm which happened once a 100 years.

They made effort to escape it earnestly. But they all dead in the storm.

I hoped that at least, one man will escape add live by life boat or helicopter.

But, they did not live. So, I was very disappointed.

In case of the Titanic, the number of life boat was few for ship members to keep the beauty of the ship. So, many passengers dead in the sea.

Do not be defeated by the appearance or desire.

Think LIFE FIRST to avoid the worst case.
